Default Drivers door mirror

Hello!
Just joined the forum today.
Learned from joining other forums for other vehicles that searching for related posts to a particular problem is a good place to start.
Did that here and came up with nothing, so either there are no posts about my problem or I did something wrong while searching...
Anyway, just purchased a 2006 Range Rover Sport HSE a few days ago. The drivers door mirror is non-operational. It cannot be adjusted from the mirror control and does not retract. The passenger side mirror retains all functions.

I have to take the mirror off/apart to see if I can determine the problem but it looks like a complete replacement mirror is available albeit a bit spendy. I also see that just the motors for said mirror are available at a greatly reduced cost.

Are motors generally the culprit for a dead mirror?

Any input is welcome.

Thanks,

Craig

Never mind...

Popped the door card off and found that the mirror was unplugged. Plugged it back in and voila! It works.

Hahaha.. Extactly the same thing happened with me. I mean almost. The Mirror assembly was retracting but I wasn't able to adjust the mirror. After going back & forth on ebay/amazon/google, I decided to remove the motor that adjusts the mirror. Removed the Glass & saw the motor was not plugged in. Saved myself sooo much money & time.
