Information for a part
Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out what system this part number 18275 (outlet flange) Land Rover classifies this under? It's a part that failed and caused some significant damage in only a few seconds time and I'm trying to just understand whether it's truly not covered under warranty. Been doing quite a bit of searching around and it appears it's a very common problem so I'm sure it's not but I see that the thermostat that connects this and the hose running to the radiator is. Thoughts?

Its a coolant outlet flange and they are VERY failure prone. As you have found out, when they fail, there is rapid coolant loss and can result in head gasket failure as a result. The part is bolted to the top of the engine block, under the intake manifold and exits out over the water pump, where the radiator hose connects.
The system is belongs to is the Cooling System.
