Default L320 EPB module screech with visual

short video depicting the screech. Could not attach url for some reason

2008 RRS HSE

Hello all I’ve been researching the common EPB screech. I came up with info that led me to believe my EPB cable was disconnected internally, however you can see In the video it is connected and operational. Yet when the threaded rod hits the stopper I’m getting the common screech. Can anybody easily identify my issue? I’ve played around with adjustment behind rotor and got nowhere but could have been mistaken in procedure. EPB is new to me and I don’t understand.

i would appreciate any help or tips thank you.

Try this on both sides, adjust the star adjuster to tighten until you can no longer turn the rotor and hub because the parking brake is holding it. Then back that adjuster off by 10 clicks. Soin the rotor until through the hole you can see the allen head. Loosen that a quarter turn then with a rubber mallet or something similar bang on the edge of the rotor hat, do this all around the rotor. Tighten that allen up and see what happens

I will definitely try that. Just ordered new parking brake shoe kit they are very old so can’t hurt to replace. In the meantime I’ll try the adjustment technique you mentioned. Thank you

SOLVED!! I can’t thank you enough, I replaced the PB shoes/hardware then followed your procedure and it worked, I’m getting a very slight screech upon engagement but it disengages and engages otherwise without issue. Maybe I need slightly more adjustment?

I’ll try calibrating with launch tool first.

I’ll mention I kept trying to make adjustments without the disc rotors installed and have a feeling that was preventing proper adjustment.

thanks so much I can’t believe it’s working.
