Supercharger knock
I'm new to the forum but own a 2013 Sport Supercharged that I bought new. It has ~135k miles on it and has generally been a good car. I noticed knock in engine and thought it was time to change the timing chain. Independent shop diagnosed it as the supercharger that needs replaced. The quoted replacement cost at $4k parts only and `$5k with labor. I'm seeing supercharger kits online for much less, but there may be something I'm missing. My question is whether this is reasonable or should I go elsewhere? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Be sure it's not just a warn coupler. 30 dollar part the goes between the pulley snout and SC. The SC does need to be partially removed to remove the snout and change it. I did mine as preventative when I did the chains.
