Default Timing Chain Slack: 2011 Range Rover L322 V8 Supercharged

Hello fellow Rovers, I've got a supercharged 5.0 Jag V8 clacking pretty loudly at cold start. I understand that the timing chain guide blade has a design flaw which causes it to wear out prematurely. Obviously this can end very badly if enough slack develops in either of the chains! The good news is I have no codes from the ECU and she quiets down a bit after oil pressure comes up. Nonetheless I'm hoping to fix the problem ASAP rather than playing anymore Russian Roulette

I see that the proper repair procedure is to replace the timing chains, tensioners, blades, and possibly even the cams. This is a pretty major repair and I have learned that getting the injectors out of the engine can be rather un-fun. I don't have any special LR tools, and I'd like to save the vehicle from the crusher if I can. I have watched the "ziptie method" videos and it seems this could be a valid shortcut to save the car without breaking the bank. I understand that this won't be a perfect repair, but I feel that it's less risky and costly than going all in on the parts and labor for the proper fixes.

I'm hoping a Rover Yoda can weigh in on the pros and cons here. Car is likely worth under $10k so I can't really go too big on it. Thanks!
