Daughter is wanting a Newer Range Rover Sport. I will be taking back possession of the Disco II.
This will be the first Range Rover in the stable.
What is the best year/years for the L494, Best engine (was thinking the 5L V8 like in our 2013 LR4) and what options to watch out for.
I have heard/read that the L494 loves to eat batteries. I read the post about adding some battery tendering. Are there particular things to watch out for on this issue?
We recently purchased a 2023 Dynamic. We also have a 2017 Sport HSE. The new 2023 is just incredible. The seats are so soft. It rides unbelievable. We bought a 2023 instead of the 24 or 25 because it still have the buttons for basic controls ( heat, fans, etc etc ) it's a dream car. If you can go with the 2023 I would highly recommend it ( don't forget the 22s)
Is there a big enough advantage over the Gen 2. She is looking at a very nice one owner 2021 with low'ish miles. It was traded in at the same LR dealership that it was bought from and that LR dealership did all the services for it. It is inexpensive enough to get it with a extended warranty for about $40k
The add says 3.0L I6 Turbocharged. From my research it says that the HSE Silver Edition comes with a 3.0l v6 Supercharged engine. I am going to take a look at it tomorrow. I know the i6 is the LR/Jaguar Ingenium engine. What are the v6 engines?

Beautiful Truck. Unfortunately, there is a big price difference between a older Gen2 and the Gen3. A bit out of her price range.
We just looked at a 2019 RRS HSE Dynamic with the contrasting leather interior. Daughter completely fell in love with it. We are looking at at about $35k out the door with a 4 Year or 60k Exclusionary Warranty. Only 54k miles on it. I was surprised how much stronger the V6 Supercharge felt and reacted vs the I6 Turbo.
Plus, it was with the extended warranty under her budget.
We might be going with it.
Thoughts?

Well, search is over. We had a nice 2019 RRS Sport HSE Dynamic ready to go, but I heard a ticking noise. A good honest dealer said let's check out that first, and when cold started, everyone verified it was a ticking coming from the exhaust manifold or internal to the engine. The Indy didn't look further without charging.
In the meantime, Toyota talked her into looking at a good used 4Runner TRD off-road and she said, that drives and handles more like my Disco, she loved it.
So one Rover down and we have a 2022 4Runner now. Body on Frame and good coil suspension doesn't lie!
