RR New to Me - 48K Service
So, I purchased a 2017 RR Sport... I'm at 36+K miles, and the service message came on. I bought it a year ago, fully serviced then so the LandRover dealer said its based on either time (1 year) or mileage, "so, it's due for the 48K standard service"... which is an oil change, filters, fluids, tire balance/rotation, etc. (I'm sure I can find the full list in my manual)... but anyway - QUESTION (and yes, I know, you buy an expensive car so expect expensive service) But my QUESTION is - is $900.00 typical for this 48K "oil change" ?
2nd Question - do you all go to the dealer for your service appointments or do you trust a local mechanic w/ good reputation on foreign cars?
Thanks in advance.

First, don’t ever go to the stealership for anything other than warranty or recall work. They will empty your wallet and provide no better quality. Second, find a local independent mechanic with good reviews to handle any work you can’t do yourself. Lastly, depending on your ability and willingness to learn, you can do almost all routine service yourself, saving you tons of money and giving you the satisfaction of knowing the work was done properly. There are many resources for DIY (YouTube, forums) as well as parts (FCPEuro, Blauparts, Atlantic British).
Oil change kit is @ $120. Cabin air filters are @ $20 and take 10 minutes to change. Air filters (2) are @ $50 and take 20 minutes to change.

Thank you very much. I do need to find a local mechanic who I can trust. I feel the same way you do about dealerships, and $900 is extreme in my book. DIY - not going there, my son tried to do an oil change on his Jeep with a friend and ended up cracking something, $1,200 later to repair. Anyway - THANKS for the reply !
