Default Surgery Gone Wrong (what would you do?)

2015 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (125,000 miles / wife driven / perfect condition)
I am truly at a loss on what to do. I had the timing chain and a few other items replaced at the beginning of the summer this year. I used a local mechanic that does a lot of these surgeries and specializes in this. Got the work done and as soon as I pulled off, the check engine light comes on. Mechanic/Owner says to drive it for a bit and it should turn off and if not, swing by and he can fix it real fast. A few days later when I was driving home I got an overheat message and come to find out they did not fully seat the hose from the radiator and it came off and this messed up my head gasket. The mechanic took it back in and did work on it and said it was fixed.

I got the truck back and it was not fixed. Every morning at startup it would over rev and the check engine light would blink and I had to restart each morning a few times. It seemed to run good once I did a few starts, but this is not how I like to run my vehicle. I have been back to this mechanic 5 times and it still is not fixed and my truck seems to be messed up more than this mechanic wants to let on to. (I did take it to the local LR dealership and they said to start with all new injectors ($6900) and then they could tell. (the truck is not worth that at this point)

I just got it back from the last time in the shop and the check engine light came on today. I am truly at a loss on what to do. My attorney says to get it fixed at LR dealership and send him the bill. Is this what you would do, or is there a better way that does not involve litigation?
