Recently took a 2018 Range Rover Sport in on trade for 2024 Defender. The key transponder locks and unlocks the SUV just fine. But; Need to hold the transponder next to the column to start the RR. Customer told us that he was told that the transceiver needs replacing. Called the local dealer, 'we have only replaced four in the past five years.' Called a service advisor, 'we don't see that too often.' Don't want to order the special order non returnable part and find out that this was not the resolution. Sure could use some sound advice.
