Hi, anybody on the forum have a new Velar Edition model. I have had mine for just over a month, well technically only two weeks as it broke down on my driveway two days in and had to get repaired. Loose connection on battery melted part of the battery and destroyed the DC converter.

Anyway not that I have the car I’ve noticed a few strange things about it that I’m interested to know if other owners experience the same.
1. The Velar Edition spec comes standard with 14 way electric seat adjustment including headrest height - mine doesn’t. Anybody able to adjust the height on there’s electronically?
2. Global close feature closes the sunroof but then immediately reopens it again. Anybody have this issue?

Neither of these issues are major, but have lost confidence in the car already and wonder what else doesn’t function properly.

Sorry to hear about your bad start with the Velar. I picked up my Edition on Saturday. I was in love with it for the first two days, it was beautifully smooth and quiet and then a strange noise started happening from somewhere under the boot from 10-15mph upwards. A loud motor sounding kind of noise. Initially I thought the boot motor was trying to activate or something.

LR technician tried a few things and thinks it might be the MHEV gubbins under the spare wheel. Earliest slot my local dealer can give me is in two weeks time for a check-over. Not impressed tbh and taken the shine off a new car.

Regarding your questions
1. Sorry also can’t find this. Fortunately mine seems to be the correct height for me.
2. global close on mine closes the roof and it stays closed.

Have you discovered any further issues since your post? I can try and get them looked at when the car is at the dealer.

Thanks for replying. I have unfortunately had quite a few issues since my original post. My car is actually just back from spending a few days at the dealership. Had intermittent failure with the SOS system, reversing camera, the kerb view on the wing mirrors and very worryingly the automatic headlights. My headlights all of a sudden stopped going off high beam when a car approaches.

Some things to keep your eye out for.

Frustrating as it’s a beautiful car to look at and drive.
