I have a 2018 Velar R Dynamic HSE that came with 22" rims. I want to put on 19" rims and tires that are better suited for rocky trail/road conditions. I assume there are no brake differences with the other Velar models that came 19" rims and they should work on my model just fine, but can anyone confirm this? i.e. that all Velars have same brakes I won't have any brake clearance issues with 19" rims on my model.

 

My Velar came with 22” wheels and I bought the 21” wheels that LR days are standard issue and compatible, however the 21” hit the calipers. When the vehicle is ordered with 22” it appears they upgrade the brakes & calipers which are not backwards compatible without spacers. I’m trying to find out if anyone has done this mod?

 

That's very interesting. Per my original post I have a 2018 Velar that had 22" rims when I purchased it. I recently bought 19" rims from a 2020 or 2021 Velar and they fit on my 2018 Velar with no issues.....no spacers needed.

 

Yeah, my Velar is the V8 SVAutobiography with huge Brembo brakes.

You can see how the spokes flair out from the center to clear the calipers and the 21” are more flat.
