The ECU will not power the fuel pump if there's no signal from that sensor.
Clearly I need to find a mechanic who is willing to do a little research... Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't willing to take on the headache of replacing a fuel pump, but I will take a shot at replacing the crank sensor.

PayPal me $10 and I'll have one out to you by First Class Mail today. My PayPal is paulgrant@mac.com. Make sure to include your shipping address.

The inertia switch is on the passenger side firewall held in place with two philips head screws. When you have the part in your hand you will see where it goes. Five minutes or less and your're done.
Cheers,
Paul

Fuel pump is easier to replace than the CPS.

She lives!!

Thanks to you good fellas' wisdom, I replaced the crank sensor and she's running better than ever.

Currently listed on Craigslist for $2,200 but I'd drop $200 for a member of this forum.

I still think I'd love a LR3, but the wife has her heart set on an Xterra. I think we need both....
Here's the link to my cl ad for her:
2000 Land Rover Discovery IISE7 FUN!!

Thanks again for your help! (seems to be fine without replacing the inertia switch, but if that gives me fits, I'll let you know.)
