Attention all Land Rover enthusiasts!

This is the moment you've all been waiting for...

Without further adieu... I give you...

Some pictures of YOUR 2000 Discovery.

NOTE: These wheels are tires will NOT be sold with the vehicle. These are from my 2004, and I put them on this Rover for my wife. Now that she's taking my 2004, she wants these back. More pictures will follow once I get the 16-inch wheels with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's back on tomorrow or Saturday!

Another note: Don't watch the video here! Click through to YouTube, and crank this sucker up to 1080p. I hired a photographer to take these pictures, so make sure you're seeing their full beauty

Watch the video here: --------->

I remembered while watching the video: The dash clock is scrambled and needs to be replaced. Link one to me and I'll buy it for the buyer.

The Kenwood has a clock, and we got used to looking at that one.

Are you going to tell us what you're asking? I might be interested.

I was going to shoot a video of a cold start today to show how smooth it is, but it snowed pretty hard here in Michigan.

I haven't decided on a price. I was thinking about doing an eBay auction. What do you guys think? What's the best way to give everyone a fair crack at it?

You've certainly put a lot of time into this ad, it's nice to see an honest seller who is passionate about the vehicle being clean and going to another Rover fan. If I was closer I'd definitely be interested.

I think you should check and see what other clean D2's are going for in your area, check the NADA values, and then add what you think is a reasonable premium given the work you've done and the condition. At the end of the day, it's going to come down to someone being willing to pay for the great condition and some people just won't do that. I personally would.

Good luck with the sale I can't imagine it will take long

Might be the cleanest in GR. I'll admit it's clean but after two pages of build up I would assume to see pics that didn't have a peeling parking brake boot, a pitted roof rack, damaged wheel flares, stone chips on the hood.... and whatever else you must not see as OCD meticulous care. Nice rover, I own a 2000 as well. Good luck with the sale but be honest with yourself and to the public you are trying to sell to.

Hello everyone!

I have an appointment to have the wheels switched back tomorrow, and then I'll be ready to officially "list".

I'll be posting those photos from the 16th, and many more, on a web-page, along with a video of a cold-start, and showing some operation of things that I'd be wondering if I were in the market again.

Keep in mind, everyone: I was VERY selective when I bought my two Discos in the first place, flying all over the country looking at vehicles. (If you want to make a dealer's jaw drop, tell them "no" after you flew to Florida with a one-way ticket JUST to look at their D2!).

HOWEVER: You all must know that some D2s are "good ones", and some are "lemons". My damn 2004 is a lemon. I love the old gal, but I've put over $20,000 into it since I bought it, and it STILL seeps fluids from 5 places. No leaks... and I guarantee you my 2004 is "top 5%" material. But, it's just "one of those".

Well, this 2000 is the total opposite. God bless its' little heart, it's one of the good ones. 'The good daughter'. I'll miss it. When I moved to Grand Haven, the Audi specialist I hired to do my mechanical work said "...that's the driest Rover I've ever seen, underneath!".

Okay everyone, here's how this is gunna work. To be the most fair, I'd start an eBay auction, and give you all a crack at it. BUT, my gut is telling me that's a cheesy way to do it, and even though it's thrilling, I DON'T like the idea of 20 people competing over this thing down to the last second. Too much opportunity for a broken heart.

SO: these are the rules, no exceptions:

1. I'm going to state the price for which I'll sell the Disco. I'll not take a penny less, but I will consider knocking some money off if you have gun(s)+cash to trade. I don't have a class 3 though, so no fun stuff.

NOTE: You are 100% free to offer me less money, but please understand ahead of time that I won't take any less than my asking price. Even if you flew up from Arizona, invite me out to lunch, and then take it for a 1 hour test drive: if you say "what about knocking $200 off?", I WILL say "no thanks". It's not that $200 makes any difference to me at all, because it doesn't. It's simply a matter of principal- I cannot bend. There are no hard feelings with this, and it's not some dominance thing. Trust me, when you see my price, you'll understand that it's less than you'll have expected.

2. The first person to hand me the money gets it. I can't hold it for anyone. I'm sorry if this bums you out, but it's the only way I can think of to make it fair. I'm sorry if you send me a message that says "I have the money and will fly up this weekend to buy it if you hold it"- even in that situation, I can't hold it.

3. Call first, to get my address, and to make sure it's available. 989-287-2019. I probably won't pick up, since I get dozens of calls every day for business, and I wouldn't get any work done if I took these calls. Just leave a message, and I will call you back very quickly.

4. The Disco won't be available to take home until at least 5pm Monday the 20th. It all depends on how fast the detailer gets the newly replaced wheels and tires shined up.

OKAY GENTLEMEN, LET'S GET DOWN TO IT.

First, remember that I will be creating a page and uploading many pictures in addition to what you've already seen tomorrow evening. BUT, it is officially 'for sale' to you guys as of this minute.

The price that I'll accept for this beauty of a 2000 Rover is as follows:

$5,800

I feel confident that I could get $6,500 easily, and perhaps as much as $7,000-$7,500 on an eBay auction.

BUT: You don't get to sell a champion of a vehicle like this every day, and I want to make this experience a pleasure for myself AND the buyer.

I work from home, so I'm available any time. Good luck, call any time: 989-287-2019

I'm with you...

I too have been told that our Rover is the nicest they've seen...but I wouldnt talk it up like that...

but...

I dont have any of the issues mentioned above...so would that make mine cleaner? Perhaps I should sell mine and ask $7000? My wife even redyed her fender flares so they would look new.

$4500-$4800

I should clarify:

I'm OCD about things that matter, as opposed to things that don't matter. =D

The roof rail 'pitting' is almost non-existent. My 2004 fenders look worse than my 2000s, and I had a hard time getting the lighting right to get a descriptive picture.

All the best,

D2F
