Default 2004 Land Rover disco 98,700 miles

Just got this beauty last week and due to some legal fees I need to part with it. It's a 2004 Land Rover discovery with 98,700 miles on her. It's the light green color with a light tan interior. The previous owner did the head gaskets, arp head studs, plugs and wires and wind shield wipers. All this was done in the last 2500 miles. It has an arb bumper on it with 265/60/18 all terrain good year tires that are in great shape. Sure there are things in forgetting but any questions feel free to ask.

The bad that I know of: Head liner around the sunroof in the front is hanging down a little bit as well as the headliner in the back where the cargo door opens is sagging a little bit. One other thing is the screws in the piece that covers the instrument cluster and covers the wiring has pulled out of the screws so the screws are in the holes but the plastic has broken around the screw.

These are the only things wrong with it that I know of. Like I said I haven't even had it a week I just need to get rid of it for the cash.

Location is red oak, tx. (Just south of Dallas)

Price is: $7,500.

Thanks for looking!!!

What have you done to it since you bought it last week? I saw this D2 for sale on CL in the Dallas area (was honestly interested in it) and it was $5500.00 if I'm not mistaken. Just curious what you did to it, to justify the extra $2000.00????

It's a clean D2, but honestly this isn't the place to make a profit. Try autotrader or carguru. I doubt you'll slap it back on CL as the previous owner will no doubt see it being sold for 2K more than he sold it for.....

WTF are you a communist? Why isn't he allowed to make a profit? I am tired of the people that come on here and **** all over peoples for sale ads just because they think the price is not a steal. I can guarantee you Paul Grant makes a profit, and Tarheel Rover, and Atlantic British, and lots of our other supporting sponsors. What exactly do you think they do differently than this guy? None of those other guys do anything other than buy something, stock it, and sell it for a profit (ok, maybe Mike and Paul have some work involved in the dismantling, but their profit margins are also higher as a result). Call up one of those guys and ask them to sell you somehting with no profit.

Truck looks as clean as any I have seen, and is definitely worth his asking price for someone looking for one in mint condition.

LoL...

All I know is I was seriously going to look at that LR, and boom it's sold, then it's marked up 2k after replacing a MAF? I understand his reason for selling it, but I'm sorry trying to post it on the LRF's with 3 post to his name and a 2k mark up does not compare anything to Paul, Will, or Shiftonthefly and what they sell on here. They've got LRF credit and have honestly been around in LR's much longer and are very well known.

I see it on CL all the time when an honest seller sells their vehicle, and it instantly becomes the village bicycle and everyone gets a ride in it as the price continues to climb.

Truly sorry for his situation, but if it was listed for 5500.00 it would be more honest as he'd be just breaking even and paying off his debt.

Hell man you wanna make a monster profit slap it on Ebay with a 10k reserve and be done with it.

I'm selling a Hummer H3 in mint condition and all I'm asking is KBB. I guess I should mark it up as the title is in my name, it's got new current tags, I slapped on a new radiator and 4k worth of add ons to 20K just to make a profit? No thanks I prefer to be honest lol.

FYI: you don't make 2k mark up profit for doing nothing unless it's a D90 or a RRC. D1/D2's are all day everyday 4-5k sales. People buy D1/D2's to enjoy and wheel not to make a profit lol. 04's are nice, but any 99 to 01 D2 can be made into an 04 with a SLABS Unit and CDL linkage. I liked that 04 D2 on CL for 5500 as it was a Texas Rover members vehicle and it was well cared for. I never once though oh damn profit time...

Here's a news flash you communist, you don't make the rules here in the US regarding what is a "honest" profit, and you don't make the rules on this forum.

Seller did not misrepresent his truck or otherwise do anything dishonest. He didn't state he was losing money, or otherwise dishonestly represent how much money he was going to make based on the asking price.

I for one am tired of you and people like you on this forum that think just because you are on this forum you deserve to buy Rover parts at less than market prices or just because a seller post in the forum they can't make a solid profit.

I am also disappointed that other forum members are not calling out the trolls like you that **** all over peoples for sale post. Good condition Rover parts or trucks are getting hard to find, and if we allow people like this troll to **** on peoples post, we will get fewer and fewer sellers and good opportunities in here (and people will go to ebay).

I hope you lose a mint on that Hummer - you deserve it!

This coming from the guy who was asking 6200 for the project D2 he couldnt fix awhile ago remember? Sounds like someone doesn't like to be called out on price gouging. Profit is great. But like I said in your other rip off post...we are a small community. So your actions (and generally crappy-*** attitude) don't go unnoticed.

I buy parts from Abran. From Paul. From Will. From Marty. From Lucky 8. All the time. I know they make a profit. That's fine. When I sell a a truck I try for even maybe if I can make a few bucks. Not full price on a mystery rig. I didn't get into Rovers to make money. Most of the time I sell something the money gets recycled right back into this and other forms for parts for the next truck.

I recently sold this 04 D2 on DwebName: 20160226164032_IMG_0711_zpso8qmg184.jpg

I got it for a good deal. So I sold it for a good deal. 3800 if I remember correctly. I could have easily priced it higher. Plus I did work for the guy for FREE so he could drive it home to Canada. That's how you take care of a fellow enthusiast.
And guess what? He made it. No problems. He and I still keep in touch. In fact every single vehicle I have sold the buyer has been happy with it. You don't get that rep ripping people off.

Paying for 5500 (we assume he payed full price) then turning around and flipping it for 7500 on a communty based forum is a dick move. Especially when he's given zero to this forum. Just like you're 6200 dollar rip off truck. You obviously have zero regard for other members of the community. I don't give a crap if his ad is crapped all over. What's he done to deserve respect? Signed up here to make 2k off some fool who doesn't realize he knows ZERO about this truck? He took advantage for the original sellers decency and tried to exploit it for profit. A big profit! Nope don't care about his ad.

Best4x4 thanks for the kind mention. Btw Extinct you're still using the word troll wrong. I listed a definition for you in your other ad.

Well said Shiftonthefly1!!! Exactly what I meant.

I'm not a troll, or a communist lol. Thanks for wishing me luck on loosing my *** on my H3 Alpha, but that's just not going to happen. You just don't seem to grasp how true LRF Members help each other out or support each other. Sounds like you were trying to pass along a nice turd yourself for a profit.....

Unlike your 6200 wonder my 08 Hummer H3 Alpha is in mint condition. I DO NOT sell crap. Unlike this mystery 04 D2 I know the service history of my H3, and it will be passed along to the owner along with a list of every single upgrade, recently repaired parts, and I would guarantee that anything I sell would make it home to anywhere in the USA without a single issue.

Every vehicle I have ever bought I sell it in much better condition than when I bought it. The H3 was in great shape when I got it, but I repaired it's weak spots (from the factory like the front diff cross member), and upgraded the suspension with the best shocks available (Bilstein 5100's). It was my wife's D/D and she also had my 4 year old daughter in it. So it was maintained to perfection. I am only selling it to gain a 3rd row of seats for my growing family. Not because OMG I wanna make a profit, or OMG it's gonna blow up so we've gotta sell the POS ASAP..

If it doesn't sell right away I just make a 200.00 payment on the LR3, and keep the H3 for sale until the right buyer comes along.

Every vehicle Shiftonthefly1 has ever listed has been well documented, in great shape, and he's been extremely good on pointing out any issues or repairs. Unlike this 04 D2 in this Thread with no details except a new MAF for a 2K markup. I sure hope that MAF has 24K Gold contacts lol.

I also do not like people with 1-3 post to their name just joining LRF so they can post in the For Sale Section. Those members always raise a GIANT red flag for me especially when I catch em going from CL to here and then slapping a 2K mark up on it to LRF Members.

I can't leave you kids unsupervised for a minute.

All involved in this thread that were out of line have a pm waiting...

Extinct please refrain from name calling, don't complain about folks not following the rules when you yourself are violating them. I can even send you a screenshot of calling people something worse than communist. Instead of name calling in the future just PM me so I can look at it. I don't read every thread on here.

Everyone take it easy on some of these for sale threads. Although we have had some stunning ones recently.

Best4x4 to be honest I agree with you I have sent a PM to the admin about a post requirement of 25 posts to be able to post a for sale thread. In the meantime I will no longer be manually approving those that are posted for brand new members.

For the future if we want to complain about a for sale thread so we don't trash up the thread. Start a thread in the off topic with a link to the thread and vent your heart out

OP feel free to post a new thread, and I will delete this one. At that price point though you will be better off on C-List or Ebay to get the most bang for the buck.

Ha. Just came across this thread. Thank you Best4x4 for looking out for the best interests of the members of this board. At least the members who come to participate and not simply use it as a Craigslist alternative... If he wants to try to sell it for $7500, then by all means, let's all let him try to sell it for $7500. What I don't get is why anybody would get upset about you calling him out on the price increase? If he's allowed to post it for sale and try to make a $2000 profit, you're well within your rights to let everybody know the history.

And, I'm sorry, but I don't buy the hokie legal fees stuff. As soon as I see a line like that in a for sale ad, I'm done. If the seller truly thought there would be expensive legal fees coming his/her way, then he/she shouldn't have bought the truck in the first place. And... if the money was needed, they would price the truck lower to try to move it faster, not try to make a $2000 profit.
