FS: 2004 Discovery II SE, Fully Documented Truck
Hello Land Rover Discovery lovers and enthusiasts,
This is the one you have been waiting for. Owned by a serious Discovery fanatic for the last 65K miles!
The truck was purchased from the previous owner with 45K miles. The Previous Owner purchased it from Land Rover Parsippany. The truck currently has 104K miles and counting as the truck is currently being used daily.
This has been our family truck and has brought us great joy and reliability but the time has come to say goodbye to our dear friend. We have no need for an SUV anymore and are looking for something smaller.
The 2004 model year for the Land Rover Discovery was the best year as this was the last production run and they got rid of all the terminal issues with the Engine Oil Pump location, overheating issues and the spotty electrics. This was a direct result of the short BMW ownership. The electrics were changed to BOSCH and the engine was modified a bit. This model year also came standard with the Center Differential Lock which was not available on the other Disco's.
This truck was used to primarily by my wife as a commuter to the Park-&-Ride approximately 3-miles away and to various Ski mountains along the East coast as far north as Canada where the 4WD was necessary during the snowy months. It was also our primary family hauler.
All maintenance was performed by myself and what I couldn't do was performed by a Land Rover specialist I know personally and solely trust.
The Oil and Filter were recently changed and good for another 3K miles. Oil changes always performed with 10w40 Non-Synthetic. I never felt the need to changeover to Synthetic and spend the extra money as she ran perfectly with regular oil.

2004 Land Rover Discovery
Bonatti Grey (Waxed x2/year)
Black Leather Interior (Excellent Condition, always Conditioned)
4.6L V8 (Premium Fuel 93Octane since Day #1)

18" 255/55/18 General Grabber AT/2's
AM/FM Cassette w/CD Changer, IPOD Aux Cable Installed
Good:
• All maintenance up to date with Folder and ALL reciepts.
• NO major service performed on the engine just routine parts.
• Oil and Filter changed.
• Always filled with 93 Octane Gasoline
• Spark Plugs & Wires changed.
• Air filter Changed.
• Battery Changed.
• Coolant always topped off with DEXCOOL (Orange Stuff)
• x2 O2 Sensors replaced ( OEM LAnd Rover)
• Upgraded tires General Grabber AT/2's in great shape
• 18" Land rover Touring Cromada rims
• OEM Running Boards
• Truck is inspected til July 2014
• 18" touring Cromada rims
Bad:
• Will need x2 more O2 sensors
• Sensors responsible for 4WD/Hill Descent/ABS (called the Three Amigos) needs attention/replacement
• Passenger rear door and trunk actuators are finicky and a common problem on these trucks. I will try to replace them for you.
We shopped for about 6 months before we finally decided on this particular truck. We just missed the Certified Warrantee time by 3 months because she was still under the required mileage. This truck will bring the next owner joy and a proud feeling when you arrive in a timeless classic vehicle like this. This is a safe and robust truck. She has always started-up for us, even in Northern Vermont during a 2 week Ski Trip when the temps were -15degrees.
These trucks have gotten a bad reputation because of there younger siblings but with a few tips on what to do and look for these trucks can easily go 300K miles especially the 2004's
Good luck and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Price is $9500 or best reasonable offer,
I can be reached at Pineda.Alvaro@gmail.com

Please fill me in on these tips! I have obviously already screwed up by ditching dexcool. Probably why my 04 is on it's second motor in under 130k miles.

I woke up in a bad mood and seeing this made me feel better.

I'm located in Spokane Washington, 4WD's bring a premium here.
Any "Fanatic" wouldn't be daft to expect almost 10K for a disco.
Oil changes always performed with 10w40 Non-Synthetic.
