Considering selling "Bertha" Dallas/Fort Worth area, TX
Asking for input on possible asking price.

I'm in the Dallas area too. Why would you sell your truck after just recently investing so much time and money? This is Dallas, so you have a much larger market and opportunity to recover a higher selling price than you would in many other places with a much smaller population, but buyers will absolutely be researching the truck's value and even with all of the fresh options, most of their findings will come well short of what you want/need out of it. But if you were going to sell it, this would be the time before something else needs replacing and resulting fault codes and such.

All I can say is post all the modifications, upgrades, and go from there.

People are of coarse going to low ball you and force KBB & NADA prices on you. However you've done like most of us and taken care of your D2 and upgraded it with $$$ parts. If they don't want to pay for all that and just want a D2 for cheap there are plenty with blown head gaskets and overheating problems not to mention messed up interior/exteriors for cheap.

I find it funny that people will pay 50K for a 4DR Jeep Wrangler JKU that is as basic as you can get and they feel like a 2-3inch lift, larger tires, and a pallet full of cheap Chinese bumpers, rocker guards, and HUGE hood decals can justify the price.

There is a dealer I see on CL, Ebay, and Auto Trader from time to time that sells D2's in the 10k to 20k range.... They claim they're restoring the D2's and replacing their engines with new crate motors. I honestly find their operation a bit shady and their Land Rover's pieced together IMHO.

Just list all your upgrades, modifications, and having receipts for things like the engine will certainly help with you getting your $$$$.

I'd love to have that Roof Rack on my 99 D2 BTW!!!!

Can I just put it on layaway with you??? LOL! Damn you've done everything to that truck, I hate to see you selling it, especially knowing you aren't going to get even half of that out of her.

I'm not sure that I will sell her... how every, if I decide to, i am finding it difficult to find others comparable to get an idea of what to ask or expect to get. Just trying to get feedback or if someone has sold one similar, maybe they could let me know.
I appreciate your thoughts and time taken in responding.

I have seen the outfit in Houston, that throws cheap aftermarket parts on and then ask 10-20K. I find some people have a lot of money and little sense.

Yeah that place slaps cheap stuff on all sorts of vehicles not just LR's. They do get some nice looking D2's thru there though. The other place is much more shady!!! and I saw an 03 D2 going for 22k..... I was like umm heck no you idiots....

My 2 Cents is that you'd probably be looking to recoup $10-12k.

Reality is you'd be lucky to see an offer of $8k, and it would take a while for the right buyer to come along (likely an enthusiast that actually appreciates allt he excellent work you've done to the vehicle).

At the end of the day, it's still an almost 15 year old Land Rover despite all the cool bits and the new engine, it will have a ceiling to it's value. If you'd gone with a LR diesel conversion then you could easily be looking at asking $15-20k.

Again, just my $0.02 - not looking to offend...
