Default Rotoflex Conversion Kit

I have a nice rear driveshaft off a late DI that had a four bolt flange at the rear diff. I can sell the driveshaft (ready to install), four bolt flange and spacer so you can convert the rotoflex flange on the rear diff of your DI or DII to four bolt. It's a significant upgrade in terms of durability for your DI or DII.

$125 shipped.

I'm possibly interested. Is there any disadvantage to doing this?

The hardest part of doing this conversion is the removal of the rear rotoflex flange on the rear diff. There are plenty of posts here, on Discoweb and plenty of other Rover bulletin boards detail a few different ways of removing the flange. Besides that, everything else about the conversion is a plus. You get a much stronger rear driveshaft that can be serviced and you'll never have to worry about replacing a dried out or torn rotoflex again.

Here's a video for one way of removing the rotoflex flange.

Sucks that you miss this one, but to answer your question... no there isn't a disadvantage to converting the roto to u joints. And it's not hard to install at all. Be sure to use a torque wrench when you install the flange to the pinion. It's important to use one to get the bearing preload right.

There is also good write up on Dweb > https://discoweb.org/oldsite/ If this link doesn't work direct, just go to the main page and click > TECH...then in left menu > "Rotoflex to Ujoint Conversion".

A bit more money that this deal, but L8 has a decent rear drive shaft kit for a good price > https://www.lucky8llc.com/collection...conversion-kit
