Wanted: Stock 4.6 discovery
My specs are listed below. I'm aware that they are annoyingly specific, but if I'm jumping in this boat again, I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way. I'm also willing to wait for the right truck to pop up. So here goes....
Must haves:
-2003/2004 model year
-SE trim level
-Alpaca Beige or Tundra interior
-Heated seats/windshield
Not interested:
-S trim level
-Modifications such as lifts, oversized tires, steel bumpers, aftermarket engine components, etc.
Would like to have but not dealbreaker:
-Roof rack and/or brush guard
-Cosmetically clean (cracks in bumpers, steering wheel/interior door panels, headliner, etc.)
I would do an SE7, HSE, HSE7, or G4 if a coil conversion had been done on rear suspension. Exterior color is not super important although I would obviously prefer some shade of green as that is the most proper Land Rover color
Lastly, I am not scared of high mileage as long as it has been well taken care of. In fact, I think I would prefer a 100k+ mile truck in hopes of avoiding (or at least prolonging) head gaskets, u-joints, piston liners, etc. Budget is up to the $6,000-$6,500 neighborhood. Located in Baltimore, Maryland but willing to travel up to 1,000 miles for the right truck.
Cheers,
Jake Mays

2003-2004 S models are darn nice IMHO. No silly sunroofs to leak more room between the front seats since they don’t have arm rest (makes reaching back to grab something easier), stereo doesn’t have an AMP so the aftermarket stereo is a breeze to install, comes with the nicest style 16’s I think ever available for a D2/P38, no heated seat elements to die, no SLS, no ACE, and then all the same hardware engine/drivetrain wise. S models are base models yes, but LR’s version of basic is nothing like an American XLT F-150 vs a SVT Raptor.
I have a sweet 04 S model in Vienna Green and I absolutely love it. It’s got jump seats and since it doesn’t have rear air you’d never know they were there. I swapped out the rearview mirror for an SE/HSE model with a compass, and since it had the black vinyl interior you honestly can’t tell the difference vs the black leather interior.
If my other two D2’s were S models I’d have zero complaints.

Got an 03 S7 for sale, stock eng. Like Best4x4 posted, no hassles with all the possible headaches that come with the SE...minus the Sunroof which mine has and doesn't leak BTW :0
