Default Wanted- Spare DII front drive shaft

Hello,
I am looking for a spare DII front drive shaft. I just want a back up because when the one I have in now starts to show signs of failure I can still drive the truck with this one. The current one I have has not shown any vibrations or odd sounds, just don't want the tranny smacked out of the truck!

Well, you may not have a lot of time to make that switch. Many owners have reported little or no warning. May want to make that upgrade or rebuild now, with your miles you must be on borrowed time.

Oh yikes! Thanks for telling me this. I need to get under the truck and see if it has the 3 grease **** on it. I have been out of town for a week and haven't been able to do so. If it has the 3 ****, does that mean its already been rebuilt?

Well, your attorney would whisper that you may have incriminated yourself - since a good practice is to grease them at every oil change... The write up in the tech section has good photos of where those fittings should be. There have been posts of "my truck is on the wrecker with red fluid everywhere", and such. Some report a chirp sound, just before it goes. One even posted about getting it covered by insurance as some thing on the road tore up his shaft and knocked a hole in the transmission.

Yes he would. Least I can say that I have only owned the truck for 3 weeks and didn't look at the driveshaft close enough to remember if it has the grease ****! lol Well Kudos go to the guy who got his insurance to pay for it!

I have one that I rebuilt with whatever the U-joints that everyone one here recomends ( sorry its been way to long to remember). I rebuilt it and the engine went like litterally less than 5k miles later and it has sat ever since. I would let it go for $250 shipped to your door and I will also include brand new grade 8 hardware for the install as well since I had to buy a bag of 25ea nuts and bolts when I reinstalled mine. Best way to reach me is by email. rexmburns@gmail.com
