Default WTB DII w/CDL

Hello folks!

I am looking to buy a disco II with CDL. Does anyone have one to sell or found one on craigslist?

Preferably:
1. With the head gasket job and other essential maintenance completed.
2. Black or white
3. Good maintenance record
4. 8-10K including the initial maintenance repair money.

Located in AZ, but willing to travel!

It's not meeting all of your requirements, but it's a very nice Rover. Add a used CDL from a junk yard for $300 and get used to the blue color and it would meet your specs, I think. There's only a couple of small things to fix and you would have an awesome Rover. It's currently sitting in the garage while my others are outside. I'm flexible on the price and would probably even drive it down there to you!

Not sure if you found your ride yet, but I'd consider selling my other D II. It's a 2003 black on black, an "S" model, so no sunroofs and everything works. Full maintenance done within last 3k miles. It looks like the original owner did the head gaskets. Only 76k miles and counting! Has steel bumpers, winch and roof rack. Also new 2" lift with Old Man Emu HD springs and Extended travel Terra Firma shocks. I'm currently redoing the headliner. Roof paint is faded and hood paint is starting to go, but saveable. It's very clean, no rust to speak of. I'll post a pic or two.

Forgot to mention that I have a parts truck with a good CDL that could go with the truck, too. I just haven't had the time to install it yet, but man they are worthless off road without the CDL!

Oh yeah...New tires too and I'm sure there's more that I'm missing. Send me a PM if interested and we could talk over the phone.

Just an FYI, some '01 DII's have LT230's that do not have the nipple on the front output assembly. That means there's nothing to attach a CDL linkage to. All of the '03 LT230's were equipped with front output assemblies that did not have the nipple. At the very least, should a DII have a transfer case missing the CDL nipple, one would need to replace that output assembly with one from an LT230 that had the nipple.

So, to recap, from about mid 2001 through all of 2002 and 2003 Land Rover, in their infinite wisdom, sold DII's equipped with LT230 transfer cases that had no way to use a CDL linkage regardless of whether that linkage was from a DI or an '04 DII.

Good information. Thank you!

wheelsup - My parts truck is a 199.5 and has the CDL with linkage and interior shift ****. I've never heard it operate, but the prior owner was a Land Rover nut and said it worked great. I'm assuming it works fine, but I was probably going to rebuild it just in case and will if I don't end up selling this truck.
