Anyone it San Diego?
Went out 4wheeling on my birthday yesterday and got stuck. It's a 1985 Toyota Pickup... If anyone is down to meet at the south side of Otay mountain truck trail I would love a hand. I'll be out there tomorrow trying to get it out. I've got a 2006 LR3 HSE but no wench and street tires. Would probably get stuck too.
Shouldn't be to hard to get it out. It's just a steepish area.
Cheers

2 years later reply to help getting unstuck
Hi Andrew,
I thought I'd respond to your post. I see this was @ 2year ago...So, I hope you've managed to get your truck unstuck by then...
I"m in San Diego was also was the primary reason, and I just bought a Freelander SE.
So, thought I'd dive in and see what's going on.
4 wheelin?
You still around?
Tim

Yep, Using a transmission as a land anchor
I did! Thanks for checking in. I wasn't able to find anyone with a wench and a decent off roading truck so we had to get it out by hand.
Went up there the next day with a shovel and used the old transmission in the bed of the truck, because I just had it changed, as a land anchor. Dug a big trench and buried it with tow straps around it. Tied them to the front tires... took a couple hours for sure but in the end worked out.
Definitely the most hillbilly thing i've done to date.. burying a transmission to get a truck out.

I'd like to more!
I'm local to San Diego. Been out here 5 years but don't really know anyone else who is into off roading. Grew up in North Carolina and used to go mudding a lot in high school and college. Also drove older Land Rovers in Kenya for a summer.
We have a 2006 LR3 HSE but it is our daily driver. We take it on 4x4 trails just nothing to crazy so we don't put ourselves without a vehicle. But the truck i'm down to take off roading. Would definitely opt to go with someone else just so we can pull each other out need be...
Would definitely be interested in hitting some trails sometime. Let me know!

Ok awesome, I used to ride dirtbikes and quads all the time at glamis, but I sold all my bikes when it came time to buy a house to save for a down payment. Was without dirt toys till I bought my disco, its my daily driver but will be looking for a commuter pick up truck soon and then ill be able to start building the disco for more dirt than street. Reason I went for disco is to take family (wife and son) with me. Ill hit you up soon and well plan something out.
