The problem was I could not drive at night, the pits were so bad (it was the original glass) that I could not see at night, all the lights burred together, and during the winter all I do is drive it in the dark.

I made the mistake of leaving the windows up on my black Dodge in Arizona when I went away for the weekend. Came back and the heat inside the truck had cracked my windshield that was less than a week old. Cracked top to bottom right down the middle.

Those Gen-Tex mirrors were designed right here in Grand Rapids. I was driving with a buddy in my Rover and he commented that it was his cousin who developed the mirrors in collaboration with BMW about 15 years ago. It sounds like they had to do some pretty amazing algorithm work to get them to dim at the right time, and not just for any light it senses. Pretty sweet that there are nerds out there doing stuff, so I don't have to think. I hate math.

Yeah math sucks.

I actually went to the Gentex factory in Zeeland and they helped me install it.

Math is your friend. For my electives in college I'm taking math classes. Next semester I plan to take trigonometry and then calculus.

Someone hit my Disco 4 or 5 years ago and my inside rear view mirror fell off. Tried to re-attach it once with no luck and just put it on the shelf in the garage. Haven't gotten around to trying again.
