Going over budget!
**Just Ranting**
Man, I think this will be a norm with this truck. This one I just bought, is used and slightly tattered. Our old '96 didnt have any issues, granted we had that one since new.
I shouldn't have budgeted maintenance/repairs based on our old one....was I wrong. My wife is already giving me grief. Damn, I didnt know this thing needed more than what I expected. Granted, I just bought the thing, I just hope it ends soon.....seriously. Had to borrow from my brake upgrade from my "muscle car"
....so pist....really want those Wilwood brakes!!!!
I guess this will be the norm for a while.....damn it!!!

Under-maintained is a common problem across vehicle brands, increased by bad economic times, people with way-to-easy leases on high cost / high maintenance vehicles, and people who have to decide on skipping that scheduled maintenance to make the payments now that their income has dropped... But like many dark clouds this has a silver lining - people with the mechanical experience, or the good fortune to find a forum like this one, can take on a used vehicle for a tiny fraction of what the previous owner was paying the dealership. If you are not prepared to do some things yourself, then a poorly maintained vehicle of any type is not going to be a good deal.
Rovers seem to suffer from previous owners who let them fall into decline, and sometimes from technicians who could not make repairs correctly (which could be from not having the RAVE to not understanding the King's English whilst wading).
