Default i miss my rover...

just wanted to get on here and tell everybody how much i miss my rover...

i get online a couple times a day just to look at pics of rovers...

i dream about the sound of mud and rocks being kicked up my A/T tires into the fender wells...

i have, twice, been ordered, expressly, NOT to um, uh, borrow, the old series rover that is on the FOB for the Iraqi Army medics ( its an old series Ambulance - i post pics later)

i go online window shopping for rover upgrades on a daily basis...

i saw the pics of the "rover girls" calendar and i saw the rover first! yea, its gotten that bad...
(i am a hetrosexual male 11,000 miles from my wife, stuck on a FOB in iraq that only has like 15 females on it - the best looking one is a 4.5 and thats being generous. and i saw the rover BEFORE i saw the hottie model.... geez.)

i think i need therapy. is there a "Rover Addict" support group?

You have come to the right place.
Lets talk about your obsession, it is ok to want another Rover when in your situation.
It is ok to touch another Rover, just dont enjoy it.

Im borderline related to doctor Phil, so PM me if you need some real help.
hahaha

Honestly though, we all really appreciate what you're doing over there.
If a rover could fit in a care package I'd send you one!!

Yeah thank you for your selfless service. Just do whatever you need to do to get back home the same way you left.

yeah, id go visit out UK friends but it would prolly be cheaper to BUY a defender than try to mail one home a part at a time....

anyway, my 1SG had me tearing down some fighting positions (razor wire, sand bags, and whatnot stacked sorta defensively-like for you non-military ) with our issued humvee and a tow strap the other day. even he was shaking his head and giving me my usual "now dont do anything too stupid with it" speech when he handed me the keys.

the guy that got stuck with me (apparently being in the passenger seat of a military vehicle when im driving off road has become punishment duty in my company... cant imagine why) had never been in a 4x4 vehicle before (in the army?! i know...) and kept screaming and grabbing the sissybar every time we got a wheel off the ground or had to traverse a side-slope and what not. except for his screaming and crying it was a very enjoyable time wheeling. even i was impressed with what a humvee and a towstrap can tear down when its in low range... made me miss my rover.

i even got this hubcap center from a disco, with its little land rover emblem on it, that i keep in the pocket of my cargos. sad i know...
