Default Moving Sucks

So this long weekend has been spent packing up our house and moving my parents' stuff in to a storage unit as they prepare to g back to Alaska. Once they get there and get settled they'll have their stuff shipped up. They were originally going to keep their house here in Colorado until the lease is up in August but they have decided to be out of the house by July 15.

The big problem and what has me stressed out is that I find myself packing my stuff too. I have no idea where I'm going to though. I haven't had time to find an apartment because I work about 60 hours a week now. It looks like my first stop is going to be to my sister's house until I can find an apartment.

This just sucks.

That does suck, that sucks alot.
You cant assume the lease from them until you find a place?
Maybe DiscoMike has a room he can rent you at his apartment.
I hate moving too, the only good part about it is a FedEx van that I get to use for free.

I have my pickup and a 7x14 enclosed trailer so that part of the move is no problem.
The rent on my parents' house is $1800 a month, I can't come close to covering that. Plus it's 25 miles to work so I want to find something closer.
My sister and brother-in-law have said numerous times I can stay until I find an apartment. The problem is that means I'm going to get roped in to household repairs which I hate. But I know they really appreciate my help so that takes a little sting out of it

$1800 per month, wow, the place must be huge.
Not only will it suck that you are fixing stuff for your sister but you have to store all of your crap too.

I called in sick to work today and have spent most of the day packing and looking at apartments on the internet. I have a list of possible places I want to check out when I have time. And yes, I really was sick this morning. Woke up with a migraine from a family argument last night. I guess you could call it a argument when it all happened via text message. LOL. I have found that first floor apartments are cheaper because they are less desirable. I think I want first floor so I don't have to try and carry my gun safe up a flight of stairs. I'm sure property management will love me have a gun safe.

I think those short moves are worse than moving to the other side of the country. If I know I'm only moving across town I wait until the last minute to pack then end up with every seat in the truck but the driver seat filled with crap I didn't feel like putting in a box.

The nice thing about the short move though is that you dont need to pack anything, just grab the lamp and carry it next door.
When the other side of our duplex was for rent we thought about switching over to there because that side has a 2 stall garage, but it is also on the south side of the building so it would be hotter and cost more in centeral a/c to keep it cool.

Argument via text message...what is this world comming to? You couldnt walk up the stairs to argue? lol
