Default New to the chicago land area

Hey all,

I'm relatively new to the chicago land area - well, I've been here for 6 months or so, but I just recently bought my 01 D2, and now it has a failed head gasket.

Anyone else from the chicago area? I've tried joining the website for chicagolandroverclub.com, but to no avail.

I'd love it if someone in the chicago area would be willing to help me do a head gasket job - I'm very mechanically inclined, but have never performed a head gasket job on anything other than a jeep (my other love. shhh ).

happy trails!

I'm in Peoria, IL. Not so close to Chicago as to help with a head gasket, but if you are ever in the area and need assistance, count on me.
