No Low Range, and now...FRONT WHEEL DRIVE! Ugh!
Land Rover needs to be careful about dilluting their brand. If they are going to try to sell $75,000-$90,000 Range Rovers, and keep their image of a company which builds industry premium leading products for both on- and off-road, they need to be careful about what they plan to bring to market.
2007 Freelander - no two-speed transfer case
2008 - FRONT WHEEL DRIVE! Please tell me this isn't true. That's disgusting. I just saw this in Automobile Magazine.
You don't see premium brands, such as Mercedes and BMW selling themselves out with front wheel drive (at least not in the US). Maybe Ford should sell Land Rover back to BMW, before they ruin it.

FORD'S FINEST AT IT AGAIN.
WORDS OF WISDOM FROM A DISGRUNTLED CO-WORKER OF MINE :
"The expectation of common-sense from uncommon people during common situations is an uncommon expectation in its sense."
THE CO-WORKER OF MINE IS NOT AS WISE AS NIETZCHE OR KRISHNAMURTY, BUT HIS BELLY IS AS BIG AS BUDDHA'S.
HE DOES READ ALOT OF FORTUNE COOKIES........MAYBE THAT'S WHAT DOES IT.
I THINK HE WORKS FOR FORD TOO.

The Freelander never had a 2 speed transfer case.
When BMW owned LR they had some of the lowest Quality going.
Most people never take their LR or RR off road and will not care what makes
it go, they just want the name, so if they can get a $35000 LR that has
the same name as a $85000 RR they are happy.
Land Rover will sell five to one and stay in business to sell real 4X4's
and that will make me happy.
And one day the person that got the little LR may move up to a RR.
IMO.
