Excellent topic! She drives a leased Lexus RX 350, but the lease is up soon, so we are shopping for one to own that we can hang on to for awhile as we'll be planning on kids soon too.

I've always liked the Audi allroads and Volvo V70 wagons. Ultimately I think I'd like to get her a V70R or an allroad. Needless to say, I've been spending a lot of time on cars.com lately, just comparing mileage and prices....

as for our random thread spammers, is there a way we could just eliminate the ICQ box when registering new users? That would eliminate a decent percentage of the spammers...

Straight married women drive Land Rovers too.
Single women drive Land Rovers.

How many miles do you guys have on the 4matic? Do you like it? What kind of issues have you had (reliability)?

We looked into this for my fiance but consumer reports doesn't show them much love.

dude, that car is a dream we drive that thing like no ones busyness we take it every were. its OUR daily driver. we got it with 32,000miles on it one year and 6 days ago we now have 55,000miles on it and have not had one single issue. period. its still under warranty and it only went in once for the 50k check up, no problems. we rely on that car like a baby relies on its mom. we take trip after trip, she drives it to work during the day and i drive it to work at night, on the weekends we visit up nyc it gets alot of city driving handles it like nothing.
trust me i know what they mean when they say they don't make benze's like the used to. and i had my doubts but we have the c280(3.0v6) 4matic and its great in snow, long highway trips and city driving. were going to keep the car till the wheels fall off and then we'll replace them and keep it some more.
idk if you have a family (its just me and my girl) its more then enough room. it comes with mbtex(not leather) great with kids, doesn't wear, easy to clean, very strong.

i may be biased but i don't think you can go wrong with a merc.
test drive one, i just wish we go it in stick.(she cant drive stick, and its her car)

we drive it 24hours straight. she takes it to work at 8am(25miles away) gets home at 630pm, we run errands, eat dinner i take it to work at 1030pm (20miles away) bring it home by 730am. ready for her to start all over again at 8am,

we literally drive that car 24 hours x 5 days a week then we take it out of town on the weekends.

the damn thing barely ever cools down and it runs like a champ. the disco is for really bad weather, off roding, and when i need to get somewhere while shes at work. ..., and the old benz is just "straight baller status" and nice sunny day weekend cruiser

That's about 187k miles a year just for the weekday driving! Assuming an average of 30mph.

We don't have any non-Rover cars. We're currently looking for a cheap D1 (one that's generally in good shape but needs some work, like an engine or transmission) for my wife.

Im a noob to this forum, but to not other forums. I bought my LR2 to be a work horse. Thats how I found you guys. I need 4 wheel drive for my work.

As for my wife, Carri drives an Infinity M45.
My other car is a fully built supercharged G35 coupe with a built Auto transmission. I am still tinkering with the tune and new ECU. Should be around 550 WHP when I'm done. It will burn E85 fuel too.

I feel like I might be out on an island here guys.....But my wife has a 2004 suzuki verona (I know!) that we bought brand new in 11/03. To my surprise this car has been the most reliable and trouble free car I have ever had. It has 58,000 on it and the only thing I have had to buy are tires and a battery this past fall. The problem I have is she is completely in love with my Disco and wants one bad. I never thought I would ever have an issue when it came to getting rid of that suzuki but this thing is still as solid and quiet as the day we bought it. As of now I have held her off by letting her drive the disco here and there. But I think the day is coming. Especially since the only issue we have had with the disco is a power steering pump. Sorry so long winded guys......
