Default 1978 Santana 109 Disc brake conversion help

Greetings, I am finally getting around to improving the drivability of my Santana and would like to put a set of disc brakes on the front. I welcome any opinions from members here. I am running a 200tdi engine Lt77 combo and the drums were never sufficient and are now useless. I have 17" defender wheels so clearance should not be a huge issue. I like the look, cost, and simplicity of the Zeus Z1301 kit (Land Rover :: ZEUS FRONT DISC BRAKE CONVERSION KIT, Land Rover SERIES II & III - Low Stock -) but i can't get in touch with anyone at their contact info so i don't know if they are still in business. Other options i have found are much more expensive, but i believe this is becasue they account for clearance issues I won't encounter.
Thanks for your time

Have fun with the conversion. The drum brakes on my 88 are quite adequate (except after driving through water) so I’ve never felt the need to upgrade.

I am wrestling with a 1984 Santana. I can't track down the rotors for this.. Is there a replacement rotor I can buy instead of the original 173222 models?

Check out: TeriAnn's Expedition Land Rover site

TeriAnn has a ton of great info on there. Some is brake related.

Forbyn Brothers sell a kit too. Forbyn Bros. | Quality parts for your classic Land Rover

Default Disc brakes

I'm in the process of a V8 conversion on my Santana Series IIa. While looking at the disc conversions, I came to the conclusion that it would be less expensive to just buy a set of used Disco 1 axles with the brakes already installed. I'm also going to convert it to a coiler while everything is off the chassis.

That’s probably a really good idea with your V8. The Disco axles and diffs are way tougher.

I have what I think is a 1983 Santana 2500. The fellow I bought it off of has a title with 1974 model year. I don't think that's correct. Anyway, I'm about to jump into the brakes. The fronts are disc and I'm looking for replacement parts. I can't tell if my disc brakes are OEM (Santana) or a conversion before it was imported into the US. I'm wondering if you've had any luck with yours.

BTW, I live in NC.

Thanks!

Mike
