My '84 Series 3 Santana 88 (2.25 diesel) was imported with a Carrefour store brand battery, 800A, 95aH. I'm looking for a U.S. replacement battery. I'm not sure how the U.S. size groups compare to the dimensions of the current battery. Any suggestions & brand/model recommendations would be welcome.

I know the diesel needs a lot of power to crank. I’d get the biggest strongest battery you can fit in the holder. My 2.25 petrol will start with a fairly poor battery.

 

Thanks. That seems to be the consensus from what I've dredged up on the web. I'll get the holder measurements and work from there.
