I've searched far and wide. I'd love to have a series I like most folks but they're out of reach. Is there a supplier for fiberglass tubs or complete bodies? I could probably build a better version for less money than a rough restoration candidate. I'm no purist. I'd love to add a Cummins R2.8 diesel and some good running gear in an old 80 inch Land Rover shell.

These guys did a Series/Defender aluminum tub, but I think they may have abandoned it. The tub would have been great for someone who wasn’t a purist. It looked great but wasn’t close enough to original for most of us. It might be worth contacting them.
