Indicator Stalk Series 2 (1960)
I have a series 11 which had a replacement indicator/horn/flash/dip stalk which has failed because it is exposed to the (damp) air. I'm aware that the original was an indicator only fitting in a metal casing but am happy to replace the one I've got. Can anyone recommend a multi-function replacement? Will the LUCAS CLASSIC SKU 575383 Part do the job without complex rewire? Let me have your advice please and thanks in anticipation. Mike Field
I'm not sure about the fitment of that stalk. The rewire won't be difficult, but how will your self cancelling work? The original uses a wheel with leather or rubber that rides on the steering column to cancel the indicator.
Thanks for your comment on this; the real problem is that the original stalk for the Series 11 was a single function indicator in a metal casing but these are now as rare as hen's teeth and cost anything up to £300 to buy from a supplier. I know that many owners have opted for the multi-function stalk but following your observation, I need to ask around about how the self cancel might be made to operate. Once again, many thanks. Mike.
