Default S3 was running, and then wasn't

So I got to my destination and turned the landy off, and after realizing I was blocking something, went to turn er back on. Nothing... No lights, no charging light, no turning over or any sort of action at all. Jumping the battery was, as predicted, useless. I had lost my speedo, so had been fiddling behind the dash a bit to try and fix that. I looked back there but with the previous owner's wonderful workmanship; I was like a lost coal miner navigating the oceans by star chart... For a split moment I had the charge lamp lit and almost a turn from the starter. but then silence and darkness. Nothing since. Ironically the only person who I know who might have some idea as to the cause or the solution has retired and fallen of the map. I will test the battery tomorrow and start the process of mapping out the wires.

Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can start looking? In a couple days, if I cant get the issue resolved I will probably try an get a push start from another vehicle. Hopefully I can avoid a tow truck as its a bit away from home.

I’d be looking at main power connections. Battery terminals and the other end of the cables (eg ground points, connections at starter and solenoid etc.
