So first of all i have to say i am in no way an axpert on these cars and just happened to come across this old wreked defender while on vacation in argentina and was thinking about buying and putting it back in original condition. I made 3 fast pictures and went on.
The owner said the motor was still able to run and we also noticed a metal plate stating it was exported and imported to buenos aires in argentina
From this picture i was guessing its a model from 1952-53
What is most curious to me about this car is that its a left wheel drive.
So i am not the best in speaking spanish so a lot was unclear when talking to the owner so i would really appriciate help getting to know this car a bit more. What i would specifically like to know is of course what model it is and when it was built. Also what type of engine it has and if possible how rare these left wheel drive models are and lastly how much this one would be worth in perfect condition.
What a crazy cool find. I'm certainly no expert on the early LRs, but there are a few things that make me think this might be a 1952 Series 1 with the 80" wheelbase. Engine could be a 1600cc 4 cylinder gas or whatever someone got to fit.
Based on the pinecone in the interior maybe this little beauty is squirrel powered?!
We also know the owner had good taste in music.
It will be a fun project....Good Luck bringing this back to life.
