Default Little notch on the A pillar?

Little notch on A pillar
For as long as I've owned my disco, I've wondered that little black notch on the A pillar is. It's on both sides and is shaped like a triangular prism. I've also seen it on a Mercedes G-class so I'm assuming it has something to do with some off-roading accessory. I've tried searching the Internet for it but found no answer.

That wedge/guide is part of the window seal in the frame. It's just there to keep the window glass from shaking/ rattling when the glass is at the highest position in the frame. "off-road accessory" sure why not.

Yeah, it's just there to steer the glass into its channel.

It's there to guide the window into place when you're rattling along at 70 mph on the highway.

Appropriately referred to as a guide by LR.

70 miles in a single hour? What manner of sorcery must this be that you speak of?
