Default windshield washer does not come on

Just noticed the windshield washer does not work- I hardly use Bummer!

Noticed the tank was empty. Poured some washer some of them leaked out not all just little bit. Assuming there is a leak. But the motor is not kicking!

Any idea where to start? Looks like its a lot of work just to get to the tank.

will appreciate suggestions

Thanks

You could have a dead pump, but first check if Fuse #19 (15 amp) is blown in the Interior Main Fuse Box.

I could be wrong on this one, but also check Relay R7 in the under the hood fuse box.

If checking fuses as suggested didn't fix problem & you want to get to washer pump, not very hard, remove the plastic under the driver side fender, the one connected to bumper, only few screws holding it, then you will have access to bottom of washer tank & pump, it could also be loose wire connection to pump itself, easy to check or replace pump after plastic piece is out,

Just a thought...if you have a bad motor and the tank is leaking, go with a new tank and motor but, go with a smaller version of the tank in case you go with a after market bumper in the future

Default Finally got some time to looking into

Update - if this helps anyone.

I think I found the leaking source. One of the Screws fell off and the tank is tilted. Can't believe this heavy water filled tank was held by two screws - Engineering screw up.

The long neck came off the tank. I wonder if this just pops in or broken off. my guess is popped out.

Now hunt for the electric issue.

I noticed my wiper motor seriously lags after turning on, sometimes i would have to wait for 10-20 sec (guess) before the wipers start.

Thanks

i went all out. took everything off. started from the base cleaned the tank there were some craps in the tank. took out and tested both front and rear motors with water works good, Fuses were ok. took out the relay cleaned the contacts. Cleaned with Air compressor. i narrowed down to the hoses, most likely the spray tip clogged. almost done

I cleaned up the hoses have not tried yet.
I found this strange looking connector with the passenger side washer tip. looks like a "non return valve" but does not seem like air pass through. I am guessing the valve is for the washer to always have water close to the tip - may be?

Thanks for your help

It's a mini check valve to keep washer fluid in the lines. I noticed that on my Disco too.
If you take a small scribe or paper clip you can push on the ball to unseat it and feel the resistance of the inner spring.
