Both good suggestions which I believe I had covered. Will be double checking soon.

Default A and B pillar Rattle Can Touch Up

Spent about 40 minutes masking off and rattle can painting the faded semi-matte trim paint on the A and b Pillars. Turned out ok, slightly more reflection than I wanted. Probably factory correct from new but it looks so shiny it pops out from everything else that's dull and muted on the vehicle. Not a bad improvement for a bit of manual labor. Also I would like to mention even though its not pictured... that flex-seal-paint rubber coating stuff does absolute wonders for the perpetually hazed over black bumper trim and tread as well as the hood blackout. That stuff is magic.

Last couple weeks I finally got around to doing a list of stuff I had been too busy with work to get to on my 96 D1:

Head gaskets / 88deg thermo / new plugs
Stripped / cleaned / painted valve covers
Stripped / cleaned / painted exhaust manifolds, new studs
Throttle body cleaned, throttle bearing lubed
IACV stepper motor cleaned and lubed
Wired Hella fog lamp relay and dash switch
New air filter
Coolant flush
New windshield installed
Changed diff and TC fluids to 85W140
Installed new stereo

oh yeah, and first I built some dock ramps to get the truck into my shop (loading dock on our 1860's building is 22" off the ground)

Red face

Those tires look great!

Finally got around to doing a bunch of stuff I had put off because of work business- bought the D1 last year from a guy who claimed he had taken good care of it but as I dug in I found the truth was unfortunately much different...

First I had to make dock ramps to get the truck into my shop- we have an old horse & carriage style loading dock on our 1860's building

I tore the top end of the engine down to find some very blown HGs

Cleaned up and refinished some parts

Engine bay looking a bit better now, in addition to the HGs, I did the valley gasket, manifold gaskets, downpipe gaskets, VG gaskets, fit a new 88deg thermo and gasket, cleaned the throttle body, IACV stepper motor, put Dielectric grease on all connections, did a new air filter, coolant flush, new plugs, flush and 2.5pt 85W140 in transfer case and diffs, greased propshafts and U-joints, fixed the leaky rear door seal with some permatex, inspected the fuel pump & resealed access panel, installed aKenwood media player and bypassed the factory amp (now I can hear how blown the factory speakers are!), removed & cleaned the blower fan which fixed the noisy heater, and took it to get the cracked windshield replaced.

Oh, and finally wired up those Hellas to a new relay and a dash switch!

Thanks. Yea, they are the original caps. I removed the lower fog lights/air dam and cut/sanded the endcaps. Pretty easy job as long as you use the right blade, measure, sand and paint. Sanding is what makes the difference on the edges where you cut.
