Plenty of info on the fronts. Mine are toast by the way, dumping right into the cabin. I am not sure if the rears are as bad, but I would like to look at them. With that said, I am having a hard time locating a thread discussing the rears in any detail. I would love to know where they terminate exactly and how to access them. Just the ends, I dont with to take the headliner off. And do they use the same end elbows as the fronts? I ordered two elbows for the fronts already, they are from another vehicle but look almost identical. I will see if they work, if they do its a MUCH cheaper solution to buying a whole hose.

For now I put electrical tape around the sunroof to seal it up while I wait for parts. Did the same with the windshield too until the cowl arrives.

 

Same elbows. They run under the C pillars and terminate just below them behind the cargo side panels.

if memory serves you have to remove the rear cargo side panels to fully access, but can probably loosen up and shift out of the way.

 

Okay, cool. If the elbows I ordered worked, I will order a couple more for the rears. And if they do, I will post the details.

This is what they look like. I am just not certain of the size but most sunroof drain tubes seem to be about the same diameter.

 

Looking forward to hearing what you find - I've also been wondering where to find those ends to the rear drains.

Back in the early days of the LR3 the ends were getting "snipped" to avoid clogging. Not sure if these one-way valves have been re-designed such that the circumcision is no longer needed, but you might consider that.

 

I read about snipping. The problem now is that they get so old they fall apart. Whole other issue really. I am not concerned too much about being a one-way. If I get water THAT far up the tube form the exit point I have other things to be concerned about!

 

they actually get "old" because debris gets caught at the non circumcised end and rots the rubber away. If no debris gets hung up the moisture would not stagnate and cause the rotting. New design is flow through with a plastic insert that joins the tube to the nipple.

 

I need to change out the drain end on our LR3, I have been trying to get it up to Abran, but haven't had a chance. Where can you but the drain end? I see the image, but can't figure out who sells the end. thanks Phil

 

ljdiscovery - I dont have a link posted for those above because I am not certain they will work. They arrive tomorrow and I will try then out. If they work, they cost is only about $10 USD each. And I will post the part number/link. Also these have the similar tampered end I will probably cut then off before install to reduce clogging.
