2001 Dll Mild Ambitious Build

Added some material to the sleeping platform.
Decided to put the water container in the side compartment, was going to remove totally...but after removing lid...the plan changed.
Some creative cutiing on the lid.
Actually, pulled the whole platform out and painted the framework black.
Brian.

Removed more of the interior plastic in the rear section and removed rear seatbalts.
Having the seat belts gone, makes it easier to climb in the rear doors.
Added a couple lights to the rear, for backing and cooking late at night.
Had a little upset today, idler pulley went south, taking out the belt. Luckily, l was only a short distance from work and made it without incident or "too-much" overheating. Replaced idler and belt, refilled, test drove at lunch break, everything normal. Drove home, without issues.
The whole time l thought the whining noise, after drowning last fall, was the alternator. Low-and-behold, it quieting down over the last few days was not a good thing...lol.
I'm glad this was the 01beast...and not the 03 (with 04 motor)...or l'd probably be searching for an engine.

When ordering the rear lights, somehow...ordered a double batch (four to a package, was going to have two on the rear of the rover and two on my wife's horse trailer). So, what the hay...since l had extras...might as well put them to use. Made a light bar at lunch and mounted the lights. Lights are smaller than l wanted, but the consensus at work was...they look good and are more tucked out of the way.
Used a wear guard for a snow blower for the bottom piece, already had holes in it for mount to snowblower, harden steel, too. Made up the upper light guard out of round tubing laying around.
Quick mount, bent a eye-let bolt open and wrapped it around roof rails. Added a couple eye-lets on each end for possible tree-limb cables.
Probably won't have time to wire them up tonight, heading out to throw a water pump on the 03. Wife complained it was getting noisy, opened the hood and found the issue...bad pump. Does it never end...lol.
