Disco II engine install
#101
Hi all again
so last I left off I was having oil leaks and misfires...since then I have replaced all four ball joints, both front hubs, rebuilt front calipers, right axle seal which was a huge pain....the metal ring goes in not out as many people suggested, still working on it.
thinking of doing a write up with video on installing the seal and why it goes in the way it does.

2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 engine reinstall. Please Help!
I am having difficulty lining the rebuilt engine to the transmission. Please Help!
2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 Re install Engine
All the sensors seem to be the same with only a sensor on the timing cover being slightly different.
But I'm about ready to give up and scrap this thing. Still have no idea what the two green wires are for and now I have to replace the timing cover. I have tomorrow left to get it running and to the garage for a safety inspection or not at all.
Not sure if I am posting this correctly. I just got my rebuilt engine in the Disco. Now, I am having difficulty mating the engine and transmission.
I cracked the timing cover tonight installing a line from the rad to just beside the oil filter. I'm going to use the cover from the blown motor and some silicon sealer in place of the gasket.
If I can't get it running tomorrow and brakes done it's off the to scrap yard.

Hi
I have a 99 disco II with a blown motor so I am in the final stages of installing a motor out of a 98 disco I... problem seems to be the engine is sitting to high now?
Need some advice here...are the motors not the same? Also for installing the converter bolts do I need to remove the engine mounts and drop the motor again to reinstall them?

More progress and learning. Always always double check things before finishing up, and check your air fliter more than once a year lol. Found a rag under the filter covering the air intake hole...good news is the filter is still clean and doesn't need cleaning or oiling. Runs/drives better now too!
