Lowering engine to install new plug wires
I am changing plugs and wires this weekend and I understand that it is a task because of the lack of space reaching the coils, but I read a post on another forum of lowering the engine a few inches to do the job. Has anybody heard of this way to change the wires?
Do you have secondary air?
You don't want to try and lower the engine, more problems then you can believe, and you will probably find your left motor mount is broken and need to replace that at the same time.
There have been many people who have installed wire on engine with and without secondary air and didn't have to replace the manifold.
By the way, how many miles on your truck?

Mike, He made it seem fairly easy but I was a little weary of that way of doing the new wires so thats why I posted.
Yes I have secondary air and just rolled 66k today

Search back about 2 months, there is a post that goes into great detail around installing wire on a secondary air engine, without removing the manifold.
