More than likely it was the not wearing a seat belt that that killed him.

That tree hit the cherokee in its weakest point. What are the odds. couldnt have been worse if it was planned. too bad.

I dont understand though, the article says he was driving his jeep, but the deputys say it was taken without the owners permission.

I agree the roof is the weakest point.
If you look at the pic still wrapped around the tree the cargo area of the Jeep started coming apart at the seem.
It is to bad that this happened, no matter what kind of car it was.

Do you have it?
A few years ago a guy in Southern California barrel rolled his DII 12 times with his kids in the truck offroading.
They all walked away.
He posted pics on the forum, I dont know where they are.

My google powers are failing me. It was posted to a few of the sites a while back. A couple of guys in a disco slid down a hill and were hurt pretty badly. One had to be airlifted, but I think everyone made it out alive.

From an unbiased prospective the Jeeps, especially the older models do not offer very much head room inside the cabin. If you examine an older jeep from frame to roof and compare it to the front portion of the Disco, you will find a big difference*. The Disco offers less leg room for taller people but still offers a very reasonable amount of headroom which I think is important in a situation where your in a rolling vehicle....

* by front end Im referring to the front cabin of the Disco. Like the amount of space from the floor of the drivers cabin to the roof is still greater than in the jeep. Of course theres even MORE head room in the rear of the Disco thanks to that awesome stepped roof line.

too be fair Julian, this one specifically does not look to have much headroom...
