Sad to say: Discovery 3 vs Toyoto Prado and others
Love the Disco 3 but it seems to be going backwards in time in regards to stability. D2 models equipped with the innovative ACE system beat the competition, the D3 models not so much. I dont believe the D3 even has any stability features on board. Sigh.
PS: Still would never buy a Asian vehicle
The LR3 does not need ACE because it is 4 wheel independent suspension with air ride on all four corners.
A wheel off the ground is a wheel off the ground, whether its a inch or a foot.
Anytime you watch a car commercial it is going to show their strengths not their weakness.

Spike I know how companies are regarding commercials. But I do NOT know much about the function of the 4 wheel independent air suspension system on board the Disco 3. I assumed it improved traction and loading capabilities but I do not know how it relates to body roll and stability. Im still learning alot about the Disco 3 models and would love to hear how the independent suspension system works on it

PS: If and when I do get a second Rover that being a Disco 3, I will be sure to add thick roof rails, put full size spare back where it belongs on the rear cargo door and invest in door panel protection plates for the lower portion of the door panels. Early Disco 1's had them and I think some UK D2's also have these plastic plates on them. Jeep grand cherokees also fit them on older models.
Current? The LR3 has not been produced for 5 years....LR4 has been around for almost 5 years. On pavement control has improved dramatically from the LR4 to the LR3.
As far as I can tell the LR4 performs similar off road to the 3.
YMMV.
