Sad, sad story...
I have a 2002 Land Rover Discovery in excellent shape. My 22 year old college student son, preoccupied, backed into the front of it as he was leaving one night. The front bumper cover is cracked. He has to pay for it. The least expensive I can find is $500. I don't care if it is a used one. Any suggestions on how to find an inexpensive bumper cover?

Thanks for the info, but not for the advice so much. He is the only one of his peers that has never had ANY type of accident or ticket. I parked behind him for a few moments in our driveway and it was pitch black dark - he didn't see my black Rover because he didn't expect me to be home. Honest mistake, but still has to pay for it.

Is his car missing the rear view mirror?
Or was he on his phone?
Regardless it was a careless mistake and a cheap one compared to a life. Hope he learns from this.
Exactly my point in that quick second a child could have ran behind the car and been killed. Always look before moving.
Now he fits in with his peers i guess!!!
Not really trying to be a d-- k but you need to go ride around with him for the day and make sure you correct him on the bad habits he has picked up on and teach him how to be a better driver. I know he is not a baby but he will always be your baby and a careless mistake can take his or someone else's life in a second.

If you are near a salvage yard it could be $50 - $100, but look at it before taking it off. Make offspring take it off (he learns how to do it without tearing up your truck), then have him install it. He learns a valuable lesson, one he will remember much longer than where he spent $500 of the college fund. Another source is dismantlers, who post on here frequently and part out vehicles. One such fellow is Paul Grant, who has owned hundreds of Land Rovers and sold them off a piece at a time.
No matter the source, make that smart guy do the work, or at least help. It is part of developing good judgement, which comes from experience, which comes from bad judgement.
Of course, many a 22 year old young lad is looking for Rover gals that think "his" ride is "hot."
