Default power range

Hello I am new to the forum and had a question about my 1996 disco. It seems that i have good power up until about 40mph and then my rpms like to sit at about 2500 with very slow acceleration until i push the peddle almost all the way to the floor and then it will jump up to about 3500 rpm and accelerate well. My disco has always acted this way. Is this normal? I have recently replaced all injectors plugs and wires. I always run 92 gas.

Thanks

No, it is not normal, do you have a check engine light on, if so what are the codes?

I dont have any codes at this time. Any ideas? It runs smooth but on the highway and especially on hills I have to push the peddle all the way down until it kicks into higher rpm and then it accelerates well at about 3500. Any ideas on what to check?

How many miles on the truck?
What have you done so far to track it down, when was it last tuned, what was done and what parts?

I have recently had all injectors replaced, new plugs and wires. New ecu. Has good compression and has good smooth power at low end and when i hit a point on the accelerator close to the floor. Also cleaned mass air flow sensor. Fresh oil high octane gas and ran a Lucas cleaner through the gas. Also I am getting about 17 mpg highway.

Hope this helps

You cleaned the MAF, you cant clean the MassAirFlow sensor.
These trks are meant to have low end tourqe and a long throttle travel for off-roading, it might be as simple as having your kick down cable re-adjusted by a transmission shop.
When was the last time the fluid was changed in your transmission.
