Default BFG AT KO's

Ive read about all the tires on here Now I'm totally confused.
Im looking at BGF All terrain TA Ko's I have 16" wheels on my 99 There is no direct replacement size ( I'm running P255 65 R16 Hankook Dynapro ATM's )
I don't have a lift kit on my 99 so what size will fit without rubbing? I need shocks and springs so I'm a bit saggy. Also have stock wheels

I was happy with the Dynapro's they have 72000 on them now. I have always liked the BFG's I ran them on my Chevy pickup all the time. I would stay with the Dynapro's but it would take several days to get them.

Which size is considered the best fit? and best tire overall?
Thanks for the help
Tom

BFG KO price is too high. Going with the Hankook DynaPro ATM 255 65 16's Found them at a good price I know those will fit that is what has been on there for 72000 mile

My truck had BFG AT KO's on it when I bought it. In my opinion, they are junk. Sketchy in rain, crappy off road and worthless in snow. Add in a high price and it's a pretty easy call.

They look good and are somewhat functional. But too expensive. I really don't know about snow. Snow here is wet and slick if it ever snows which is rare. All I know is there is no milk or bread at the gro when it snows. People act like they are going to be stranded for weeks. But it's usually gone in a day.

I like the HanKooks they are good enough for what I do.

What sort of wheeling if any will you be doing? Stay away from the BFG's, they aren't what they used to be.
With out a lift, consider a set of 245/75/16's which for the most part do not rub.

I'm running 265/75 KO's on my '01. Never had any "sketchy" issues in snow or rain. I don't drive this thing like an old lady going to church on a Sunday either.

Crappy off-road?! Care to elaborate? I highly disagree - they have incredible sidewall strength. They always got me over hills and though the woods.

Check out treadwrights. They are re-tread tires. However, theyhave been receiving excellent reviews from users. Prices are about half of the competition. .

The BFG AT's have absolutely no traction on water, ice, snow or mud and have a issue with throwing rocks when off road with little traction. Yes, they have a decent side wall, which is their only strong point.

They like to spin on wet roads and braking on snow covered roads was terrible. I had a set of Nitto Terragrapplers on a P38 that my wife used to drive. The first day she used the Discovery with the BFG's on it was during a snow storm and she wanted to know why the brakes didn't work. For an AT tire, I was not impressed. Every time it snowed I knew I was in for an exciting trip. I switched to Duratracs and the problem was solved. If they work for you, great but I don't plan to get another set.

My Off road usually consists of washed out roads. Old log roads mainly to get to a cave or Pit. I've done some light wheelin out west Ophir Pass Road to Batopilas Mexico, Point Sublime GCNP. One trail at Arches I don't remember the name but it was fairly easy most of the way etc.etc. .In the east its Big South Fork all over cave land and TAG area The Dyanpro's will do well again I believe. Mug is the culprit around here and washes.
