Paint for rims?
I'm looking to paint my rims black. Any good suggestions? Looking for a flat black look. Not too glossy/shiny. Any suggestions? Like the rims I have and id rather not buy new ones, so I'd rather paint them.

I painted mine satin black with that stuff 2.5 years ago. After many off road trips, and 2 Seattle winters, they are just now starting to get some flaking on around the edge of the rim, but considering I spent all of $12 for the paint, I'd say that's well worth it.

I also read that John Deere makes a flat black paint that somebody used on their wheels. Supposed to work pretty good. It may be a little more heavy duty than the Wal-Mart spray paint? Not sure.
I'm looking into painting my wheels also. Maybe this Wal-Mart stuff is pretty good.

I highly recommend doing this and for getting better results follow the instruction mentioned below:
1.Remove any dust or oils from the rim using alcohol.
2.After that before painting apply thin coats of primer on the rims, allowing each coat to dry for 30 minutes.
3. Then apply two or three thin coats of paint on the rims, with the interval of 30 minutes between each coat.

Those suggestions sound great. I just picked up a black '03 Disco SE with 63.5K miles on Tuesday, had the windows limo tinted yesterday, and will be painting the rims black in the next few weeks. I love that look and these suggestions should help out a ton.
Question: when you guys have painted your wheels, have you put your vehicles on blocks and took all the wheels off at once, or did you work on one wheel at a time?
