I forgot to mention earlier, the new idler pulley has rails on both edges. There’s a TSB, LTB00067 4/7/2009, that I didn’t understand until I installed the pulley and it rubbed the bracket. I had to shave a little bit with a Dremel for clearance.

Things just went south, literally. As I was relocating the wiring harness for the A/C compressor bracket I heard a light snap then some clankity-clank noises. By shear luck, I found the cracked plastic mounting clip with my borescope. There’s no way in h I can extract it. I’m trying to talk myself out of pulling the front cover, but I don’t think I can.

I cut about 5/8 in. off of the ear. There’s no way it hurts the radiator. I have a feeling there’s a new radiator in my future, and this will make next time easier (maybe).

I also cut the condenser port mounting tabs off. The aftermarket condenser coil didn’t fit perfectly to the tabs. I think that maybe this will also make a future radiator job easier.
