Default need help

Hi every one
I have a discovery 2003 and after driving for a week or so I have notice the water level is low
And I have cheeked all of the hoses and there is no leaking.
What could cause this?

1. A leak that you can't see, because hose is hidden. See attached page from RAVE shop manual with cooling system layout. One clever place is the hose under the coolant reserve container.

2. If you have other symptoms , like lots of white smoke from exhaust, exhaust that smells "sweet", temperature gauge going above 9:00 position, or oil that has "milky" look in it (may have to drain to see that) - could be head gaskets are leaking. You said you have had it about a week. May have been doing this awhile.

3. There is another gasket, called the valley pan gasket, that is between the intake manifold on top of the engine and the main block. It can leak coolant out the back of the motor or into the oil.

4. If oil on dipstick appears more full than normal, that could also be a sign of coolant in oil, the oil change shops are not prone to give you more oil than needed.

5. Would suggest you change oil - drain into a pan, and inspect for green drops of coolant, or milky looking streaks. There is also a $50 chemical test kit you can buy from auto parts store that will test hot coolant and confirm if there is "combustion gas in coolant".

6. Now if you just have coolant loss, and no other symptom of a head gasket issue, the auto parts store will loan you a coolant pressure tetser, you pump up pressure to 20 PSI, wait 30 minutes, and coolant drip will usually make itself known.
