Default Freelander Advice

Can anyone help with advice...... I am looking to convert to the word of the Freelander, but i have heard that it is best to avoid all petrol versions and stick with the TD4 as this as a BMW engine...is this correct and also what year where these engines introduced as I am keen of a 51 Plate GS Freelander in Surrey...also final question are these Turbo Diesel engines as well

many thanks in advance

I fix them all the time and the bills are astronomical because the parts are expensive as hell. New range rovers are cheaper to operate.

Just condemned another engine last night.

thats actually really easy to check, since 99 we did away with checking the transmission by using a tube. look under the vehicle and there is a bolt you take out while the vehicle is running in park and warm and then you can check it. But take the wrong one off and you take out a band bolt instead.

its in the regular workshop manual

Can someone help me? Where do I pour the coolant for the radiator? I don't want to risk pouring it in the wrong place.

There is a round coolant bottle with a big cap on it.

Seriously dude, take the vehicle to a dealership and have it looked over for problems cause if you don't now where to put coolant trust me, the dealer will help you with all your problems and ones you don't know about.
